NALC announces the latest Local Council Award Scheme results

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has announced the latest quarterly results for the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS).

The Quality Gold Award demonstrates that a council aspires to excellence and is at the forefront of best practice by achieving a high standard in Community Governance, Leadership and Performance Management. The latest councils to be accredited with the Quality Gold Award are Great Chart with Singleton Parish Council, Marden Parish Council, Mistley Parish Council, Odiham Parish Council, Pershore Town Council, Quedgeley Town Council, Salfords & Sidlow Parish Council and Sevenoaks Town Council.

The Quality Award demonstrates that a council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement, going beyond its legal obligations and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop. The latest councils to be accredited with  the Quality Award are Banwell Parish Council, Chipping Norton Town Council, Liss Parish Council, Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council, Tewkesbury Town Council, Wilsden Parish Council, Woodbury Parish Council and Yatton Parish Council.

The Foundation award demonstrates that a council has the required documentation and information to operate lawfully and according to standard practice and has the foundations and policies for improvement and development in place. The latest councils to be accredited with  the Foundation Award are Abbots Langley Parish Council, Baildon Town Council, Brampton Bierlow Parish Council, Broadstairs & St Peters Town Council, Clotton Hoofield Parish Council, Duddon & Burton Parish Council, Frampton Cotterell Parish Council, Hargrave & Huxley Parish Council, Heighington Parish Council, Howden Town Council, Ilkley Town Council, Lutterworth Town Council, Ockbrook & Borrowash Parish Council, Skipton Town Council, South Woodham Ferrers Town Council, Stillingfleet Parish Council, Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council, Weston Turville Parish Council and Wickford Town Council.

LCAS has been designed to celebrate the successes of the best local (parish and town) councils and provide a framework to support all local councils in improving and developing to their full potential.

NALC congratulates all local councils awarded under the scheme and encourages more local councils to become accredited.
