ABOUT

NALC has launched three new study tours across 2020/21 at three dynamic larger local (parish and town) councils. Each study tour will centre around a theme that is relevant to the work of many larger councils. The tours are an excellent opportunity to learn, gain knowledge, share good practice and network.

Come and be inspired about Folkestone Town Council’s climate change offer. See how this dynamic council engages with Folkestone’s residents working with all local partners from the public sector to deliver climate change and tree management outcomes in different areas across the town.

Twelve places are available to this study tour.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Hear a presentation on climate change from the council
  • Go on a bus tour to visit the new museum highlighting how an old listed town hall has become more energy efficient using LED lighting with automation software, radiant and underfloor heating and by converting a damp vacant space into a sustainable community facility

  • Engage in breakout groups to learn and share good practice on fighting climate change with other sector delegates
  • Stay at the fabulous Clifton Hotel
