The role of deputy town clerk is an excellent opportunity for an innovative individual with excellent management, problem solving and communication skills. The deputy town clerk is responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of the council’s assets, resources, contracts, and services.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a track record of achievement in delivering high quality services and facilities. Attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and excellent leadership skills are essential.

The salary starts at £31,364 and progresses to £33,945 by annual increment (subject to satisfactory performance). This full-time role is based in the town hall in the centre of Melksham.The contracted 37 hours include some evening and occasional weekend working. You will receive 23 days annual leave (rising to 28 days after 5 years’ service). The council offers a generous Local Government Pension Scheme.
