SUMMARY

The position of Denham warden is mainly a Monday to Friday role, general handyman/gardener, carry out tasks on behalf of the parish, street cleaning, cutting vegetation, strimming of grass etc. Maintenance and repair work, painting and varnishing park benches. Cleaning the war memorial, putting up poppies and silent soldiers for Remembrance Sunday. Setting-up and taking down gazebos for Music on the green and christmas events, on occasional weekends. Experience of a trade such as a carpenter or gardener would be beneficial, as there will be occasions to repair or maintain existing equipment that has become damaged, such as play equipment. Complete weekly timesheets detailing the list of tasks completed, time taken and the date completed. Denham Parish consists of five settlement areas in the parish, Tatling End, Higher Denham, Denham Green, Denham village and New Denham, and it will be expected to work in each settlement a day a week to keep the area clean and tidy. This may involve cutting back vegetation, cleaning road signs on 30mph roads, painting white boundary gates, as and when required. Litter picking and taking rubbish to the tip. Ownership of tools and own vehicle to carry out tasks around the parish and mobile phone is a pre-requisite. Able to work on own initiative. Training can be provided for general maintenance including health and safety. Must have good communication skills to respond with residents/officers and councillors on any issues raised and to report back.
