The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has written an open letter to clerks about civility in public life ahead of the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) Practitioners’ Conference taking place between 23 - 25 February 2021.

The letter penned by NALC chief executive, Jonathan Owen, thanks clerks of local (parish and town) councils for their hard work during the pandemic and provides an update on work at a national and local level to address poor behaviour including bullying.

The respective leadership teams of NALC and SLCC will shortly be meeting on this issue and preparing and resourcing an action plan to promote civility in public life.
