Larger Councils Committee
Our Larger Councils Committee represents the needs of larger parish and town councils, defined as those with an electorate of over 6,000 and/or an annual budgeted income of £600,000. It develops, formulates, and responds to the policy issues affecting larger councils.
In addition to operating the Larger Councils Committee, we have developed other services to support larger councils, such as the national network for super councils and the direct access scheme. Super councils are the largest parish and town councils (some now with bigger budgets than the smallest principal authorities). They tend to have very large service and asset portfolios and employ several staff, but they still have large macro-funding needs.
This year's meetings are on 6 February 2024, 30 April 2024, 23 July 2024, and 29 October 2024.
